About
Jana Ercilla was born in the Philippines, and is currently based in San Antonio Texas, where she received her BFA in Photography from Texas State University.
She started publicly showing her work during art fairs in Alpine, Texas in 2009.
Her art reflects her interest in the old age concept of interpreting and marrying traditional art with modern conceptualism. Her more recent works are embedded with cultural and social themes regarding her own identity as a queer Filipino woman and what that means for her as an artist working in a country that questions and challenges these very notions.
Jana works with both digital and film photography.
